3 of the games were within 3 points of each other. Closer games than people would assume.
Black and Red losing games they were expected to win and Purple keeping it close in what could have been a blowout.

Week 1 is behind us and I am starting to become at ease with this scheduling. These playoff formats much resemble soccer with teams vying for the opportunity to advance through a simple, yet highly effective pool format. As with European soccer, it seems the league has done everything in its power to stretch the season through a series of intervals that determine individual stats, and which teams can get it together when it truly matters most.
Pool A:
Carolina Blue out performed purple in another tightly contested match. Dylan Goulet taking man of the match, with a top-notch performance, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the reigning champs Rafuse, Roccaslava, and Jake W.
White rolled on coal grey. Even the return of Dave Z wasn’t enough to overcome Spack’s fireworks who was named player of the game. Special mention to league newcomer Chris W. who got the nod as player of the game.
Carolina Blue meets Coal Grey this week. Take Grey, as Z will likely wake up feeling dangerous.
White meets purple in the late game. 3 of Giorgio won’t be enough against white. Take white by multiple scores.
Pool B:
Green narrowly prevailed over red by two points. This match got testy thanks to some long standing personal rivalries. Jack led with a stellar performance that slowly wore down the top defense in the league. In what was previously pick city, Jack only threw to green and it made the difference.
Jelani rounded up his squad and made it clear that you show up in the playoffs. And show up he did. He was able to beat Noah’s team black by 4 points. Chris P. with another performance in line with one’s that wandered him the nickname T.O. Man of the match going to his first round pick and league newcomer Ryan F along with a defensive effort by fellow newcomer Tyler M.
Advantage underdogs in pool B.
Red vs Royal Blue at 9am. Take Red.
Black vs Green at 10:45. Take Black.

My mistake on the scheduling - perhaps I need to brush up on my seeding & scheduling.
Assuming a full roster, Jamie and Jack shut down Joe, and depth prevents the rest of Carolina Blue from keeping up against this offensive powerhouse. Take white.
Coal Grey vs Purple: G to the power 3 would get it done, but alas - they only have one. Defensive backfield of Drew & Murg will hold down the fort. Look for another performance by Dylan, but Coal should be able to move the ball with purple focusing on containing Z. Take Coal Grey.
Prediction Group A:
White 3-0, Coal Grey 2-1, Carolina Blue 2-1, Purple 0-3.
